Sustainability

Each suit keeps 1,800 plastic bottles out of the sea.

We cut Shark swim suits from ECONYL® — nylon yarn regenerated from ghost fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial waste recovered from the Mediterranean and other seas. Every piece on our line is traceable back to the salvage.

— The fabric

ECONYL® is nylon, reborn.

Most kids swim suits are cut from virgin polyamide — petroleum spun into yarn. Shark is cut from ECONYL® instead: a regenerated nylon yarn produced by Aquafil in Slovenia.

Aquafil pulls ghost fishing nets, industrial fabric scrap, and consumer carpet waste out of the ocean and out of landfill. The waste is depolymerised back to its base molecule — caprolactam — and re-spun into a yarn that's chemically identical to virgin nylon. Stronger, often.

The yarn is the same. The footprint isn't. ECONYL® cuts carbon emissions ~70% versus virgin nylon and can be re-regenerated indefinitely without losing performance.

— What we're certified by

Independently checked.

  • ECONYL® regenerated

Verified by Aquafil — every yard traceable.

  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100

Tested free of harmful chemicals — safe for kids' skin.

  • Bluesign system partner

Print pigments and dyes audited for water + air impact.

— The packaging

No plastic in the box.

Every Shark piece ships in a 100% recycled-paper mailer, tied with a cotton-twill drawstring bag the kid keeps. Tissue paper is unbleached, dye-free. Care labels are printed directly onto the garment — no swing tags, no plastic clips.

The brief? If the kid throws the packaging in the bin, the bin still composts.

And if a print fades?

We replace the piece. The chlorine warranty is real — print failure within 60 days of normal use is on us. No receipt games.
